NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Preparation of Mechanical Data Sheets (MDS) i.e. Enquiry Specifications (RFQ) for the Equipments

  • Review of Process Data Sheets and P&ID.
  • Calculation of operating/performance parameter for equipment’s.
  • Technical discussions with various disciplines for the finalization of the Enquiry specs (RFQ).
  • Raising Technical Queries (TQ) where necessary.
  • Evaluation of technical offers received against the enquiries. Technical discussions with the vendors.
  • Preparation of Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for submission to the client.
  • Preparation of purchase specifications (PS) for the selected vendor.
  • Developing basic design, detailed engineering and procurement related activities of Static / Rotating &Package equipment.
  • Vendor drawings/Data sheets review in detail pertaining to the designs, installation, Connections and compliance with the enquiry specifications. Inter Disciplinary discussions to complete the review and approval of the drawings.
  • Interfacing with other functional department Process, Electrical, Civil, Piping, & Instrumentation etc..
  • Technical Discussions with the client and Vendors.
  • Attending weekly meetings with clients for proper progress of project.
  • Exposure to Pre-bid Engineering, Early Engineering, Detailed Engineering.
  • Meeting the requirements of client standards during the execution of projects
  • Preparation of Mechanical Handling Study Reports

Education Qualification

    • HAZOP / SIL participation & close out.
    • Performing process studies and preparation of reports
    • Preparation of pre commissioning / commissioning and operating manuals.
    • Developing process design philosophy such as shutdown, operation, isolation & maintenance.

Leading a team of Designers and Engineers to complete the projects within given time frame without compromising the budget and quality of work. Provide feedback and technical support to achieve the project objective.

Able to specify and select major (high value) equipment or components under supervision of EPM/Dept Manager. Able to apply advanced methods to solve complex problems. Is able to deal with a dynamic and changing environment. Demonstrates understanding of interfaces with other disciplines. Oversees consequences or new developments for own discipline. Contributes to the development of new (calculation) methods, innovative designs, and improves existing methods.

Works as expert / specialist engineer for projects on proposal development. Guides and instructs other less experienced colleagues. Organises and secures knowledge within his\her discipline. Responsible for technical procurement follow-up of major equipment or components and packages for projects. Can be assigned as a Project Engineer for large projects to supervise other lead engineers


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The designer will be expected to review Jr. designer / drafter work and provide input and support to designer/drafters upon completion of those reviews. Conducts simple standardized calculations. Able to see cost schedule impact, constructability, operability and maintainability of designs made.

Identifies shortcomings in current design methods and use of software and proposes remedies. Works on projects. Produces autonomously complete drawings of components, systems and structures. May review proposed purchased items to evaluate their suitability. Provides on the job technical training or guidance to designers and draughtsman.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To use computer aided design (Micro-station, AutoCAD, PDMS including Draft) facilities for the production of detailed and general arrangement drawings, such as Layouts, Hookup diagrams, Installation drawing, loop drawings, Schematics, block diagrams, termination diagrams, IO list etc.
  • To produce provisional, experimental and concept drawings and sketches for the assistance of Lead designer/engineers.
  • To assist the lead designer in writing procedures, specifying actions to be taken for any unusual/special removal, maintenance and overhaul of instrument systems and equipment which he has designed.
  • To follow all relevant Departmental Working Instructions in the design and drawing of Instrument and control system.
  • To attend training courses, seminars etc. when required.
  • Preparation of Instrument Index refers from P& ID.
  • Preparation and review of Inter Connection Diagram, Block diagrams, Loop diagrams, Electrical interface diagrams, System architecture diagrams, General arrangement diagrams, installation drawings, Schedules, Hook-up drawings, Marshalling wiring diagrams, fabrication drawings etc.
  • Preparation of Layout drawings for Cable ladder, Cable routing, Instrument & JB location, LCP location, Fire and Gas, Control room, PAGA system, CCTV system etc.
  • Preparation of preliminary layout drawing for cable tray, tubing tray, JB locations, FGS locations etc. for Jr.designer to move forward.
  • Preparation of typical installation drawings for Cable ladder/tray, instruments and miscellaneous items etc.
  • Preparation of Fabrication Drawing based on Installation Drawings
  • Calculation of Weight summary & Steel Quantity estimation
  • Sizing of Multi-Cable Transit (MCT) and preparation of MCT layout and MCT details

Responsible to deliver wide verity of 2D Drawings, 3D Model & able to work independently as well as efficiently with minimal direction from senior/Lead Designer. Must have specialized knowledge in the areas of structural Detailing & experience with Software’s such as AUTOCAD & PDMS.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To produce Design, fabrication drawings for structures & proficient with the structural Detailing such as Connections, Welds.
    • To prepare clash free 3D Model.
    • To prepare MTO/BOM using MS-Excel & have knowledge on Material Specification & Structural Member Properties.
    • To follow all relevant procedures and Departmental Working Instructions
    • To follow all applicable and relevant Guidelines, standards and codes in structural design

To direct and coordinate all project electrical engineering issues related to equipment specification, procurement, and installation design, such as: Preparation of specifications, Selection of suppliers, Review of vendor data, Testing, Maintenance of the electrical database, Liaison with other disciplines on packages, Support to site during installation and commissioning

To monitor the progress of electrical engineering documents and ensure that all relevant working Instructions are correctly followed in the engineering phase

Accountable to see cost impact, schedule impact, constructability, operability and maintainability of his designs. Responsible for technical procurement follow-up of standard equipment or components for projects.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform Electrical Design Calculations such as Short circuit & Load Flow using ETAP Software.
